Job Brief

AFM International Inc is looking for a well-rounded RFP & Order Execution Specialist to take on the challenge of supporting our customers and outside sales people that are located around the globe. The company specifies, sources and sells industrial conveyor belting to the tunneling, mining and materials handling industries worldwide.

AFM’s conveyor belting is produced primarily in China and shipped directly to distributors, resellers, OEMs and end-user customers.  Some of the world’s largest conveyor projects use AFM’s Endurance brand belting (www.endurancebelting.com).

 

Key Responsibilities

The RFP & Order Execution Specialist will work in a small office supporting both the purchasing and selling sides of the business. The position requires:

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional attitude in dealings with suppliers, customers, distributors, logistics partners and a widely distributed sales force.

·         Strong organization and planning skills to ensure orders are delivered on time and error free to customers around the world.

·         Answering inbound quote and order requests (via phone and email) from customers, responding to their needs quickly and professionally.

·         Effectively dealing with customer concerns, objections, and hesitations.

·         Processing order paperwork and liaising with suppliers on order fulfillment.

·         Dealing with customer service issues in a professional manner.

·         Completing office paperwork and keeping an organized and systematized workspace.

·         Supporting outside sales people and ensuring they are up to date with regards to interactions and transactions with any customers in their territory.

·         Preparing professionally written customer proposals.

·         Maintaining production schedules with each factory to know where each order is in the process and reporting back to head office on a weekly basis.

·         Being proactive and advocating on behalf of Endurance Belting to ensure belting product is shipped on time.

·         Coordinating shipping documentation and other post-production logistics.

·         Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the Canadian shareholder.

·         Excellent negotiation, financial, mathematical, and business acumen skills.

 

Requirements

·         An undergraduate or college degree.

·         The applicant must be detail oriented, resourceful and prepared to work independently with ongoing support and guidance from the RFP & Order Execution Director and management at the Canadian affiliate.

·         The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word. 

·         The successful candidate will feel comfortable working with numbers daily.  The candidate must be able to calculate margins (mark-up) with a calculator/computer.  The candidate must also be comfortable receiving customer requirements and transcribing them into quotes and orders without errors.  Ability to read simple drawings and identify width, length, thickness, diameter, etc.

·         The successful candidate will be driven to get things done.  They will look to make things happen and be constantly looking for better ways to get things done. 

·         The ideal candidate will have self learning skills that will help them become product experts by leveraging the people and information they have access to.

·         The successful candidate will be able to work in an environment with a matrix reporting structure and where complexity and change are the norms.

·         The ability to speak Spanish is a bonus and will be considered when evaluating applicants.
